How about them Dallas Mavericks? The Mavs pulled even with the LA Clippers in this series after a crazy Game 4 that had an even more insane ending thanks to an extra sprinkling of Luka Doncic magic.

With the series tied at 2-2, which team will get that crucial 3-2 series lead? Catch this game live on Wednesday at 9 AM, Manila time.

HOME TEAM: #2 LA Clippers (2-2)

Every milk carton in Los Angeles should have a face of Paul George following his ghosting of the Clippers in their 135-133 overtime loss to Dallas on Monday. George was once again nowhere to be found in Game 4, as he put up a paltry output of nine points (3-14 FG). George hasn’t been himself since scoring 27 in the series opener.

From Games 2-4, George averaged just 11.3 points on an ice-cold 21.3 FG%. With George struggling, Lou Williams has been forced to step up, and he’s answered the call, thus far. Williams is scoring 20.8 points per game on 56 FG% in the series. In Game 4, he shot 13 for 20 for 36 points in 34 minutes. Kawhi Leonard was steady as usual with 32 points.

Obviously, the Clippers are a much better team when George is delivering the goods. George is too good of a player to continue playing this badly and with all the heat he’s been catching from all comers, the Fresno State product might be fully motivated to show everyone that he’s a superstar.

ROAD TEAM: #7 Dallas Mavericks (2-2)

Whereas George is getting lampooned nonstop online, Mavericks star Luka Doncic is on the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to the praise he’s getting from the basketball world.

Doncic, despite playing on a bum ankle, carried the Mavs in Game 4 with an unforgettable performance. Doncic blew up for 43 points, including the game-winning 3-point shot heard around the world, to go with 17 rebounds and 13 assists. So far in the series, Doncic is averaging 31.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game.

Kristaps Porzingis sat out Game 4 with a sore right knee. He had a recent MRI on that knee which came back negative, but as of this writing, his status for Game 5 is still uncertain. If Porzingis is forced to sit out Game 5, the Mavericks hope that the Ann Arbor duo of Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. will be able to fill the void left by the Latvian. Burke had 25 points in Game 4, while Hardaway scored 21.

PREDICTIONS:

Luka Doncic is on a playing on a different level than anyone else in the bubble right now, except possibly Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz.

But assuming Kristaps Porzingis will get ruled out for Game 5, it’s tough to expect the same Game 4 performances from the inconsistent pair of Burke and Hardaway. We are taking the Clippers here, 125-120.
