Away: Minnesota Timberwolves (37-29, 19-15 Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Mike Conley
  • Anthony Edwards
  • Jaden McDaniels
  • Julius Randle
  • Rudy Gobert (Questionable)

Fresh off an incredible performance in a 141-124 win over the San Antonio Spurs at home, the Timberwolves are hoping that they still have it on offense when they face off against Denver. The T’wolves put together a blazing scoring night against the Spurs, as they shot 55.8 percent from the field and went 21-for-42 from deep. Minnesota has been in some sort of a zone of late.

During their current five-game win streak, the Timberwolves have posted a 50.6 field goal percentage and 61.8 effective field goal percentage. Julius Randle’s willingness to share the ball is impacting Minnesota’s attack positively. He has averaged 7.2 assists in the last five games. He may have to play a bigger role on defense this Thursday, though, with Rudy Gobert listed as questionable with a back issue. Meanwhile, Anthony Edwards has been a nightmare to defend for Denver this season, as he has averaged 31.5 points on 54.3 FG% in Minnesota’s two wins over the Nuggets.

The Timberwolves are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games in Denver, dating back to 2019.

Home: Denver Nuggets (42-23, 22-9 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Jamal Murray (Probable)
  • Christian Braun
  • Michael Porter Jr.
  • Aaron Gordon (Doubtful)
  • Nikola Jokic (Probable)

The Nuggets have won three of their last four outings, a stretch that include a 1-1 straight-up split on the road versus the Oklahoma City Thunder. Denver lost to the Thunder on Monday, 127-103, before avenging that loss in a 140-127 victory the following day.

Nikola Jokic made the statkeepers work in that win, as he had 35 points, 18 rebounds and eight assists. He is averaging a triple-double of 28.9 points, 13.0 rebounds and 10.5 assists this season while shooting 57.7 FG%.

In two games against the Timberwolves, the three-time NBA Most Valuable Player put up 23.0 points (58.6 FG%), 12.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds. If Gobert gets ruled out for this upcoming contest, Jokic could be a good bet to stuff the stat sheets with unreal numbers again. Jokic and Jamal Murray are both listed as probable as well, but are expected to suit up. Meanwhile, Aaron Gordon has longer odds to play since he’s given a doubtful tag.

The Nuggets are 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 games.
