The Lakers got trounced in the first meeting, 108-91, but they will have an excellent opportunity to bounce back tomorrow as the Sixers are struck by injuries.

HOME TEAM: Los Angeles Lakers (46-13, 21-7 at home)

The Lakers got back on the win column on Monday through a 122-114 road victory over the New Orleans Pelicans. It was their eighth win in nine games.

With Anthony Davis resting a hurt knee, LeBron James tallied his 13th triple-double of the season, tying league-leader Luka Doncic – 34 points, 12 rebounds, and assists.

Davis (31 PTS) and James (29 PTS) were the only Lakers to reach double figures in that previous loss to the Sixers, but since the Sixers are short in depth, things will be likely different in the coming match-up – even if Davis decides to sit out again.

Kyle Kuzma (16 PPG in his last three) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (12 PPG in his last four) are two guys in the supporting cast that are producing decently as of late.

ROAD TEAM: Philadelphia 76ers (37-24, 9-22 on the road)

The Sixers have been alternating wins in their last six games and they have also allowed their opponents to shoot over 50% in four of their previous six.

Heavily banged-up, Philly will continue missing the services of their two All-Stars, Joel Embiid (shoulder) and Ben Simmons (back). Their co-starter, Josh Richardson, is also expected to be out due to a concussion.

All the absence means a heavier workload for Tobias Harris, who appears to be up to the task offensively as he is scoring 29.5 points on 59.5% shooting in his last two. He scored a team-high 29 in the Sixers’ win against the Lakers in January.

Aiding Harris is second-year guard Shake Milton. The former SMU Mustang has been dazzling in his last three, where he has put up 26 PPG (68.7 FG%) and an insane 16-for-20 shooting from three. Monday versus the LA Clippers, he registered a career-high 39 points.

PREDICTION:

Milton has all the confidence in the world right now and it should be pretty exciting to see him lock horns with the Lakers’ defense, who randomly struggle against high-scoring guards.

That said, I expect LA to pull out with a 114-108 win. They are ahead in depth and should be able to take advantage of the Sixers.
