It’s a clash of offense as both the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat each have three 20+ PPG scorers. LA hopes to collect an eighth-straight win on zero-days rest.
Catch the game tomorrow, March 20th, at 7:00 AM, Manila time.
AWAY: Los Angeles Lakers (44-25, ROAD)
Projected starting five:
- Austin Reaves
- Marcus Smart
- Luka Doncic
- LeBron James
- DeAndre Ayton
The Lakers are riding high on a season-best, seven-game winning streak – also having won 10 of their last 11 games. “The vibes are immaculate,” as the kids would say.
However, and this is not to be a big Debbie Downer, tomorrow’s iffy since it’s on the second night of a back-to-back while being on such a high. It simply looks like an overdue rest day for the stars following a great run.
Nevertheless, the stretch that Luka Doncic is in now is insane. He’s averaging 38.1 points, 9.0 rebounds, 8.0 assists, and 5.7 threes per game on 40.4% shooting from deep in his last seven outings, a.k.a the current streak. We’ll see if he stays possessed or if finally has a rightful cooldown. LeBron James and Austin Reaves are backing him up nicely with good numbers in the same timeframe .
Reaves could be the main man if the team’s superstar duo both sit. DeAndrew Ayton, Marcus Smart, Rui Hachimura, and Luke Kennard, among others could have an uptick in production as well if that’s the case.
Doncic, Reaves, and Jake LaRavia led the Lakers to a 130-120 win over the Heat last November 3rd, with all three posting 25 or more points.
HOME: Miami Heat (37-31)
Projected starting five:
- Davion Mitchell
- Tyler Herro
- Norman Powell
- Bam Adebayo
- Kel’el Ware
The Heat have now dropped back-to-back games following a seven-game winning streak. They will look to regain their stride against a Laker team that’s on zero-days rest.
Mr. 83 Points Bam Adebayo should be back in the lineup after what appears to be a rest-related DNP last game vs. the Charlotte Hornets. He’s in a good matchup opposite the Laker forwards, though that unit has been doing better defensively as of late.
Tyler Herro has played in 11 of the team’s last 13 games – the healthiest in his injury-plagued 2025-26 campaign. He’s at 20.9 PPG in that span, and should look to contribute well tomorrow. The same goes for Norman Powell, the team’s All-Star this year and leader in PPG at 22.4. Steady and defensive point guard Davion Mitchell will look to cause problems too.
Miami has long been a defense-oriented squad, but they switched into a high-powered offense this year, ranking second in points at 120.2 PPG.
