Away: Los Angeles Lakers (50-29, 24-16 Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Luke Kennard
  • Marcus Smart (Questionable)
  • Jake LaRavia
  • LeBron James
  • Deandre Ayton

The Lakers are still reeling from the injuries suffered recently by Luka Doncica nd Austin Reaves, who are both out for at least the remainder of the regular season. Los Angeles is also on a losing skid, dropping their last three outings, and is coming off a 123-87 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Lakers have already clinched a spot in the NBA Playoffs, but they still have something to fight for, with the No. 3 seed still in play. Without Doncic and Reaves, the Lakers will be forced to rely heavily on LeBron James.

That said, it is possible that Los Angeles will scale back James’ workload and preserve his body for the postseason. In that case, Luke Kennard, Jake LaRavia and Deandre Ayton will be counted upon even more against the Warriors, who are banged up as well.

The Lakers are 5-2 straight up and 5-2 against the spread in their last seven regular-season meetings with Golden State.

Home: Golden State Warriors (37-42, 22-18 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Stephen Curry (Questionable)
  • De’Anthony Melton
  • Brandin Podziemski
  • Malevy Leons
  • Draymond Green

The Warriors recovered from a four-game losing streak on Wednesday by defeating the Sacramento Kings at home, 110-105. De’Anthony Melton

led the Dubs with 17 points on 7/12 shooting, while much-maligned Brandin Podziemski added 20 points with four 3-pointers.

Meanwhile, Stephen Curry came off the bench and chipped in 17 points on 5/12 shooting. Curry’s return has certainly given the Warriors a shot in the arm, but he’s labeled questionable for the meeting with LA. This Lakers game is the first of a back-to-back set, so resting Curry is a real possibility for the Warriors, who have already ruled out Kristaps Porzingis for Friday’s contest.

The Warriors, who are seventh in the league overall with a 114.1 offensive rating, are 3-1 against the spread in their last four games as the home team.
