Away: Los Angeles Clippers (5-12, 2-7 Away)
Projected Starting Five:
- James Harden
- Kris Dunn
- Kawhi Leonard
- John Collins
- Ivica Zubac
The Clippers will look to finish a seven-game road trip on a high note against Los Angeles. James Harden and company have won just two of the six games of this road trip, with both victories coming against fellow sub-500 teams Dallas Mavericks and Charlotte Hornets. They are also fresh off a 120-105 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday.
But with the way James Harden has been playing of late, the Clippers just can’t be counted out. The 36-year-old Harden recently exploded for 55 points in the 131-106 win against Charlotte. Over his last eight games, The Beard has put up 33.6 points while shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from deep.
And then there’s Kawhi Leonard, who just made his first appearance since early November, scoring 20 points in 26 minutes versus the Cavaliers. Having shaken off the rust from a long layoff, Leonard could have something bigger in store in the upcoming matchup against the Lakers.
The Clippers are 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 games as the road team versus the Lakers, dating back to 2020.

Home: Los Angeles Lakers (12-4, 4-2 Home)
Projected Starting Five:
- Luka Doncic
- Austin Reaves
- Rui Hachimura
- LeBron James
- Jaxson Hayes
Unlike the Clippers, the Lakers aren’t wasting the big scoring games of their superstar, Luka Doncic. The Slovenian guard is leading the league with 34.5 points per game, while shooting 46.7 percent from the field. With Doncic showing the way, Los Angeles has won 12 of its first 16 games this season.
The Lakers are also on a four-game win streak heading into the date with the Clippers. They recently victimized the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City on Monday, 108-106. Doncic scored 33 points in that game, while four-time NBA Most Valuable Player LeBron James had 17 points in just his second game in the campaign. With James back, the Lakers’ offense can be expected to improve going forward, as an additional playmaker like him does nothing but benefit Los Angeles’ attack, which is second in the league overall with a 61.5 true shooting percentage. However, the Lakers will roll with a lineup this Wednesday without big man Deandre Ayton, who is dealing with a knee issue.
The Lakers are 3-0 against the spread in their last three home games.
