The Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs just met on Thursday in San Antonio, and they will meet again this Saturday in the same location — but on a much different floor. In this rematch, the Warriors and the Spurs will go at it against each other in an NBA Cup showdown. Will the Dubs make it two in a row against San Antonio? Or, will the Spurs get back at Stephen Curry and the visiting Warriors?

Away: Golden State Warriors (7-6, 2-6 Away)
Projected Starting Five:
- Stephen Curry
- Will Richard
- Moses Moody
- Jimmy Butler III
- Draymond Green
The Warriors wouldn’t be coming into this game coming off a win if not for the explosive performance by Stephen Curry. The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player reminded everyone that he’s still very much here, as he erupted for 46 points on 16/25 shooting from the floor, including five 3-pointers and a 15/16 line from the charity stripe. Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody provided 28 and 19 points, respectively.
Draymond Green went 1/10 from the floor, but emerged with a game-high plus15, showing that he can always be a positive regardless of how many bucks or bricks he produces. Golden State’s 3-point shooting was a huge weapon the team relied on in overcoming a 16-point deficit versus the Spurs, and it can be a factor again this weekend. The Warriors are No. 1 in the league with 50.0 3-point attempts per game on a 37.0 percent success rate from deep.
The Warriors, who have Jonathan Kuminga listed as questionable for the rematch with the Spurs, are 2-1 against the spread in their last three games.
Home: San Antonio Spurs (8-3, 5-1 Home)
Projected Starting Five:
- De’Aaron Fox
- Stephon Castle
- Devin Vassell
- Harrison Barnes
- Victor Wembanyama
San Antonio saw its three-game win streak snapped on Thursday. They looked as though they were going to stretch that streak to four games when they built a big lead in the first half, only to squander it in the final two quarters of the contest.
Nevertheless, Victor Wembanyama shone anew, as the Spurs unicorn had a triple-double of 31 points on 11/22 shooting, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. However, he also turned the ball over eight times. Hopefully, he’s figured out how to minimize his errors without sacrificing his usage. Either way, it looks like he and the Spurs can continue taking advantage of Golden State’s interior defense after outscoring the Warriors in the painted area on Thursday by a wide margin, 52-22.
The Spurs, who are fourth in the league with a 118.7 offensive rating, are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight home games against the Warriors.
