The Golden State Warriors are trying to survive a stretch without Stephen Curry, and they won’t have him again this Friday versus the Philadelphia 76ers, who will look to send the Dubs below .500. That said, Golden State is still a dangerous team to face for a team like the 76ers, who still have so much to prove this season.

Away: Golden State Warriors (11-11, 4-8 Away)
Projected Starting Five:
- Brandin Podziemski
- Will Richard
- Moses Moody
- Jimmy Butler III (Questionable)
- Draymond Green
Playing without Stephen Curry is hard enough for the Warriors. Facing the best team on the planet right now without the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player is even harder – and that was the case on Wednesday for the Dubs, as they lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder at home, 124-112. Curry is not expected to play this Friday against the Sixers, as he continues to deal with a quad issue.
What’s more worrisome for the Warriors is that Jimmy Butler could be in danger of missing at least a game after a sore right knee forced him to exit the OKC game and not return. The prospect of not having Curry and Butler is a tough one for Golden State, but the team isn’t bereft of good talent without them either.
Golden State kept in step with the Thunder for most of Wednesday’s game, which was decided only in the final minutes. Brandin Podziemski, Jonathan Kuminga, Pat Spencer and Seth Curry could make things interesting for Golden State this Friday, with Podziemski and Spencer each coming off a 17-point performance to lead the Warriors in the Thunder loss.

Home: Philadelphia 76ers (11-9, 6-6 Home)
Projected Starting Five:
- Tyrese Maxey
- VJ Edgecombe
- Paul George
- Dominick Barlow
- Joel Embiid (Doubtful)
In Tyrese Maxey, the 76ers have at least one true star they don’t have to lose sleep over when it comes to health. Maxey was back at it again on Tuesday, as he dropped 35 points on 13/26 shooting from the field with six assists and four steals to lead Philly to a 121-102 victory at home over the Wizards.
On the season, Maxey is averaging 32.5 points while shooting 38.7% from behind the arc. With Paul George and Joel Embiid frequently having their statuses in question, Maxey is the one whom Philadelphia is constantly pinning its hope on showing the way for the team. Embiid missed the Washington game with a knee issue, while George only had 11 points on 4/10 shooting.
The rise of Jared McCain is also turning heads in Philly, with the former Duke Blue Devils star putting up 13.5 points and shooting 39.1% from deep in the last four Sixers games. Philadelphia’s speed in transition could spell trouble for the Warriors, as the 76ers are sixth in the league through Wednesday with 17.8 fastbreak points per game.
