DRAYMON/ CURRY UNCERTAIN
These Warriors are not the late 2010s Warriors. Things have changed significantly and they don’t dominate the league like they used to. After a strong start to the season, Golden State has struggled to win games consistently. The Pacers have seen that firsthand, as Indiana beat the Warriors in San Francisco last December, 111-105. It is worth noting that Stephen Curry scored just 10 points on a salty 2-for-13 shooting from the field.
While he’s now more vulnerable to cold spells, Curry is still a dangerous scorer the Warriors can rely on. His status, though, for the Pacers game is up in the air. The same can be said about Draymond Green, while Andrew Wiggins has already been technically ruled out for Saturday’s game.
Speaking of shooting threats, there’s also Buddy Hield. The former Pacer shot 5-for-11 from the field with three 3-pointers for 13 points off the bench in the first meeting with Indiana. Hield also had 19 points with five 3-pointers in Golden State’s 107-104 road win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday. Golden State will look to return the favor this Saturday to the Pacers in Indiana, where the Warriors are 4-2 against the spread in their last six visits there.
Home: Indiana Pacers (20-18, 10-6 Home)
Projected Starting Five:
- Tyrese Haliburton
- Andrew Nembhard
- Bennedict Mathurin
- Pascal Siakam
- Myles Turner (Questionable)
The Pacers are turning heads with their recent play. They will enter this rematch against the Warriors on a four-game win streak, including Thursday’s 129-113 takedown of the Chicago Bulls at home. Indiana’s offense has been fantastic of late. Since the start of their win streak, the Pacers have averaged 124.0 points on a 50.9 percent shooting from the field. They have also hit 38.6 percent of their 3-point attempts in that span.
Tyrese Haliburton has silenced his detractors with an All-Star level of play recently for the Pacers, having averaged 24.8 points on 50.8 FG% and 48.6 3FG% and 11.0 assists in the last four Indiana outings. But Myles Turner could be the biggest problem (literally and figuratively) for the Warriors this Saturday, as the former Texas Longhorns big man had 23 points nd 10 boards while shooting 9-for-13 from the field in the December meeting with Golden State. Turner, however, is questionable at the time of this writing for the Warriors rematch.
