The Lakers could sure use a break, but they’re coming up against a strong Phoenix Suns squad that has been scoring in bunches.

Catch this game live on Monday, May 10 at 10 AM, Manila time.

HOME TEAM: LA Lakers (37-30, 18-15 at home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • PG: Alex Caruso
  • SG: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
  • SF: Kyle Kuzma
  • PF: Anthony Davis
  • C: Andre Drummond

The Lakers have a serious problem, having now fallen to seventh place and the play-in tournament after their close loss to the Blazers yesterday.

They’ve got five games to try to climb back into that sixth seed and have games against the Suns, Knicks, Rockets, Pacers, and Pelicans.

They’ll be playing with desperation, but Anthony Davis looked better against the Blazers with 36 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. However, the Lakers are still missing LeBron James and Dennis Schroder.

They’re 2-8 in their last 10 games, and are 2-1-7 ATS in that span.

ROAD TEAM: Phoenix Suns (48-19, 22-10 on the road)

Projected Starting Five:

  • PG: Christ Paul
  • SG: Devin Booker
  • SF: Mikal Bridges
  • PF: Torrey Craig
  • C: DeAndre Ayton

The Suns pulled away from the Knicks in the fourth quarter after their opponents lost their cool and allowed Phoenix to outscore them 38-17.

For the month of May, Devin Booker is averaging 27.3 PPG, 4 REB and 4.8 APG while Chris Paul is putting up 16.8 PPG and 11 APG. DeAndre Ayton also has 13.3 PTS and 9.5 RPG. Oh, and Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder are both averaging at least 18 PPG.

The Suns are still trying to compete for the first seed, but realistically need to win all of their last five games, including against the Lakers, for a shot. The Jazz are 50-18 with four games left while the Suns are 48-19.

The Suns are 7-3 over their last 10 games and 5-1-4 ATS.

PREDICTIONS:

Spread:

The Suns are going to be playing hard to keep the gap between them and the Clippers and Nuggets. They’ll win and cover the -6.

Over/Under:

The Lakers will do their best to keep it close but the Suns are playing too good on offense and are averaging 121.8 PPG in their last five games. Take the over 214.
