The Detroit Pistons and the Chicago Bulls square off for the last time this season. The Pistons have the regular-season series lead, 2-1, and are looking like an unbeatable team at the moment, but will the Bulls pull the rug out from under Detroit for a stunning win? Or, will Detroit crumple the Bulls?

Away: Detroit Pistons (41-13, 19-7 Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Cade Cunningham
  • Duncan Robinson
  • Ausar Thompson
  • Tobias Harris
  • Jalen Duren

The Pistons are a well-oiled machine that teams are struggling to bottle up. In their latest outing, Cade Cunningham and company demolished the New York Knicks in Gotham on Friday, 126-111.

That’s Detroit’s fourth consecutive win and seventh in eight games. Cunningham blasted the Knicks with a 42-point, 13-assist night, while veteran Tobias Harris had a double-double of 11 points and 10 boards.

Detroit didn’t even need Jalen Duren, who served the second (and last) game of his suspension, to take out such a talented Knicks team. With Duren’s suspension finally lifted, he’s clear to give it a go this Sunday versus the Bulls.

The Pistons, who are top 10 in the league in both offensive (115.7) and defensive (108.7) efficiencies, are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games.

Home: Chicago Bulls (24-32, 15-13 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Josh Giddey
  • Anfernee Simons
  • Isaac Okoro
  • Matas Buzelis
  • Jalen Smith

Unlike the Pistons, Chicago is moving in the opposite direction, and the Bulls will be looking to change that in the second leg of their seven-game homestand. Before the All-Star break, Chicago absorbed a 124-105 loss in Beantown at the hands of the Boston Celtics.

In their first game after the break, the Bulls lost to the Toronto Raptors at home on Friday, 101-110.

On a seven-game losing skid, Chicago is still searching for an antidote to its malaise, and while it’s a tall order to take down the red-hot Pistons, the Bulls have actually won a game this season versus Detroit to the tune of a 115-111 score. However, that was way back on Oct. 23, when they still had Nikola Vucevic.

Chicago, eighth in the league with a 36.6 3FG%, is also 6-3-1 ATS in its last 10 home games against the Pistons.
