Away: Denver Nuggets (30-15, 18-7 Away)
Projected Starting Five:
- Jamal Murray
- Aaron Gordon
- Spencer Jones
- Jalen Pickett
- Peyton Watson
With or without Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets can have fun on the court. They had lots of it on Friday, as they thumped the Washington Wizards to start a three-game road trip with a 107-97 win. Peyton Watson went off for 35 points on 10/16 shooting to lead the way for Denver, while Jamal Murray had 24 points on 9/17 shooting.
Watson is not Jokic, but he’s been more than serviceable with increased playing time. In the last five Denver games, he averaged 20.6 points on 49.3 FG%. When Denver defeated the Bucks at home on Jan. 12, Watson had 19 points, while Aaron Gordon put up 23. Also watch out for Tim Hardaway Jr., who had a thud on Friday (2 points on 1/8 FG) but erupted for 25 points off the bench in the first meeting with Milwaukee.
Home: Milwaukee Bucks (18-25, 9-11 Home)
Projected Starting Five:
- Ryan Rollins
- AJ Green
- Kyle Kuzma
- Giannis Antetokounmpo
- Myles Turner (Probable )
Milwaukee is not in a good place. The Giannis Antetokounmpo situation is seemingly affecting the team. The “Greek Freak” even appears to have scaled back on taking shots of late. Is he trying to force his way out of Milwaukee? In any case, he’ll remain as the man to watch over the side of the Bucks, who are coming off a 122-102 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder at home on Thursday.
The two-time NBA MVP had 19 points on 8/11 shooting versus the reigning NBA champs, while AJ Green and Bobby Portis each had 15 markers. Myles Turner could be back after being absent in the Thunder game, while Kevin Porter Jr. is out indefinitely with an upper-body issue. Milwaukee is counting as well on Ryan Rollins to show up this Saturday after he posted only two points on 1/9 shooting in the loss to the Nuggets earlier this month.
