The Boston Celtics are 20-0 at home this season and will host the defending champions. Will the Denver Nuggets end the streak?

Catch the game tomorrow at 8:30 AM, Manila time.

AWAY: Denver Nuggets (28-14, 11-10 AWAY)

Projected starting five:

  • Jamal Murray
  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
  • Michael Porter Jr.
  • Aaron Gordon
  • Nikola Jokic

The Nuggets are trying to get out of an up-and-down stretch. They are just 5-4 over their last nine games, with unsteady rhythm all throughout. That said, they have a positive net rating over that period, scoring 117.7 PPG and giving up just 116.3 on the other end.

Also, positive or negative net rating, they are the reigning champions, with Nikola Jokic (25.5 PPG, 11.9 RPG, 9.1 APG), arguably the best player in the league, right on their deck, alongside one of the best scoring point guards in Jamal Murray (20.5 PPG), and a superb supporting cast in Aaron Gordon, Michael Porter Jr. It’s a versatile crew that plays multiple styles of unselfish, efficient basketball.

Jokic’s basketball IQ, Murray’s scoring, and the other guys’ mixture of offense and defense should have an exciting clash opposite Boston.

HOME: Boston Celtics (32-9, 20-0 HOME)

Projected starting five:

  • Jrue Holiday
  • Derrick White
  • Jaylen Brown
  • Jayson Tatum
  • Kristaps Porzingis

The top-seeded Celtics enter the game on a three-game winning streak, two of which were by 32 and 19 points – a good summary of the type of season they’re having. They average 120.9 PPG and have a league-leading +10.5 net rating. Also, as mentioned, they are a perfect 20-0 at home thus far.

As always, it’s Jayson Tatum (27.1 PPG) and Jaylen Brown (23.3 PPG) leading the way, with the defensive backcourt of Jrue Holiday and Derrick White, who has a case for an All-Star nod, readily available for two-way support. Kristaps Porzingis is also effective on his own spots, with 19.1 points and 1.8 blocks per game.

This Celtics team is running wild in all areas. They are top five in offensive and defensive scoring and ratings, while also topping three-point shooting and rebounding, so it’s simply a headache to contain this group.

PREDICTIONS:

Handicap: The Celtics (-5.5) fail to cover.

Over/Under: The total goes over 233.
