The Mavs just want to find the light at the end of a long dark tunnel. On a seven-game losing skid, Cooper Flagg and the Mavericks will look to get things right, as they face Phoenix for the second leg of their current road trip.
Dallas’ last two games were both losses to the San Antonio Spurs. On the season, the Mavericks are 14th in the league with a 113.6 defensive rating and sixth with a 52.9 defensive eFG%, but they were clearly exposed on that end by San Antonio.
An encouraging sign for the Mavs going into the matchup against Phoenix is their outside shooting, as they have shot 39.7% from behind the arc in their last two outings.
The Mavericks have covered the spread in six of their last seven trips to Phoenix, dating back to the 2021-22 NBA season.

The Suns are not in fine form either. They have lost three of their last four games and are coming off consecutive defeats, both at home.
After losing to the Golden State Warriors last Friday, 101-97, Phoenix suffered a 109-103 defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.
Phoenix’s offense has been dismal of late, as the Suns have knocked down just 42.8% of their shots from the field in their last four outings. However, Devin Booker played in just one of those games, as he just made his return to the lineup in the 76ers game after dealing with an injury.
On the season, the Suns are 15th in the league with a 114.6 offensive rating and eighth with a 112.5 defensive rating. They are also 5-5 ATS in their last 10 home games.
