Catch the game tomorrow at 8:00 AM, Manila time.

The Dallas Mavericks and Cleveland Cavaliers do battle for the second time this season. The latter won the first meeting, 113-110.

AWAY: Dallas Mavericks (33-24, 15-11 AWAY)

Projected starting five:

  • Luka Doncic
  • Kyrie Irving
  • Josh Green
  • Derrick Jones Jr.
  • Dereck Lively II (day-to-day)

The Mavericks started their four-game roadtrip on Monday with a loss. They were handily defeated by the Indiana Pacers, 133-111, which also snapped their seven-game winning streak.

Such isn’t what you want when entering a set of road games, especially since they are expected to be in revenge mode tomorrow vs. the Cavaliers. Their 3-point loss to Cleveland last December was rooted in a fourth quarter play that got them outscored, 31-20, with Luka Doncic, the league’s leading scorer at 34.3 points per game, being held to five points on 2-of-7 shooting in the quarter.

However, the positive note is Dallas will have Kyrie Irving this time, who was sidelined in the previous matchup. The veteran guard is crafty as ever, and is averaging 27.9 PPG on 56% shooting in his last seven games.

The Mavs are scoring 121.6 PPG and allowing 110.8 over their last five outings.

HOME: Cleveland Cavaliers (37-19, 19-10 HOME)

Projected starting five:

  • Darius Garland
  • Donovan Mitchell
  • Max Strus
  • Evan Mobley
  • Jarrett Allen

The Cavs have fallen to 2-3 in their last five games following a strong, nine-game winning streak. However, they’ll be in good spirits tomorrow as they are still looking good overall.

Aside from maintaining their spot as one of the top defenses in the NBA, where they rank second in fewest points allowed (109.2) and defensive rating, there’s also that aforementioned win over Dallas. It was a good all-around effort as guys stepped up while Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, and Evan Mobley were all injured. Filling the void were Jarrett Allen, who had a monster 24 points and 23 boards, Isaac Okoro adding 22, and Caris LeVert coming off the bench to chip in a game-high 29 points alongside seven assists and six three-pointers.

With Doncic and Irving on the other side, the Cavs will have plenty of weapons as well, as Mitchell (28.1 PPG, 6.2 APG, 1.9 SPG), Garland (18.2 PPG, 6.2 APG), and Mobley (15.7 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 1.6 BPG) are likewise available.

PREDICTIONS:

Handicap: The Cavs (-4) cover the spread.

Over/Under: The total goes over 233.
