Away: Cleveland Cavaliers (23-19, 9-9 Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Jaylon Tyson
  • Donovan Mitchell
  • De’Andre Hunter
  • Evan Mobley
  • Jarrett Allen

The Cavs demolished Philadelphia in the City of Brotherly Love on Thursday to the tune of a 133-107 score, but Cleveland will be more banged up this time around. Injured in that game were guards Darius Garland and Sam Mitchell. Both have been ruled out for Saturday’s meeting at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.

Craig Porter Jr. and Jaylon Tyson could see more opportunities to shine without Garland, but what’s more certain is that Mitchell will have increased usage. That’s not exactly a bad thing, as Mitchell dropped 35 points on the 76ers in the last meeting, while De’Andre Hunter came off the bench and fired 17 points for the Cavaliers, who are fourth in the league with an average of 120.1 points per game.

The Cavs have won five of the last six meetings with Philly.

Home: Philadelphia 76ers (22-17, 10-10 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Tyrese Maxey
  • VJ Edgecombe
  • Paul George (Probable)
  • Dominick Barlow (Questionable)
  • Joel Embiid DD (Probable)

The 76ers have lost two of their last three games, including the aforementioned defeat at the hands of Philadelphia. They could also be without some key players for Saturday’s showdown with Cleveland, with Paul George and Joel Embiid leading the names of Sixers players with injury designations. Both vets are probable.

Either way, Philadelphia will need its young backcourt to bounce back from a salty shooting night in the previous meeting with the Cavs. Tyrese Maxey finished that game with 14 points on 5/14 shooting from the field, while VJ Edgecombe had nine points on 3/10 shooting. As a team, Philadelphia shot just 40 percent in the loss to the Cavs, so perhaps some positive regression will help them this Saturday.

The 76ers, who are averaging 116.8 points per game, are 3-3 against the spread in their last six home games.
