Away: Charlotte Hornets (32-33, 18-16 Away)

Projected Starting Five:

  • LaMelo Ball
  • Kon Knueppel
  • Brandon Miller
  • Miles Bridges
  • Moussa Diabate

This season feels different for the Charlotte Hornets, as they are among those in contention for a playoff spot. However, they had a throwback to the franchise’s darker times over their last two games, as the Hornets have dropped back-to-back games to the Miami Heat (128-120) and the Phoenix Suns (111-99) on Saturday and Monday, respectively.

Still, the Hornets can sting, and it’s already been felt by Portland, which lost to Brandon Miller and company on March 1 in Charlotte to the tune of a 109-93 score. Miller had 26 points in that game, while Moussa Diabate had a double-double of 13 points and 11 boards. Charlotte has a dangerous offense powered by great shooting from deep. They are ninth in the league with a 116.5 offensive efficiency and third with a 37.8% success rate from behind the arc.

The Hornets are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 road games.

Home: Portland Trail Blazers (31-34, 17-15 Home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • Jrue Holiday
  • Toumani Camara
  • Deni Avdija
  • Jerami Grant
  • Donovan Clingan

It has been a topsy-turvy ride for the Blazers over their last several games. They have gone 5-5 straight-up in their last 10 games, and are coming off a 131-111 victory over the going-nowhere Indiana Pacers at home on Monday. It was a great start, nonetheless, to Portland’s three-game homestand.

The Blazers now look to return the favor to Charlotte, and they may get another great game from Scoot Henderson. The former No. 3 overall pick blasted the Pacers for 28 points, so he’s got some serious confidence carrying him into this rematch against the Hornets. Portland will also have a healthier roster this time around, with Deni Avdija (scored 18 points vs. Indiana) ready to give it a go. He was not available during the first meeting with Charlotte because of a back injury.

The Blazers are 19-13-0in home games this season.
