The Los Angeles Lakers are set to host the careening Brooklyn Nets. Is this a potential trap game, ending in a March Madness-esque upset win for Brooklyn? Or, will the Lakers make it look like a No. 1 seed toppling a community college basketball team?

Away: Brooklyn Nets (17-56, 8-30 Away)
Projected Starting Five:
- Drake Powell
- Ben Saraf
- Ziaire Williams
- Terance Mann
- Nic Claxton
The Nets have already checked out a long time ago, but they still have to play games. They are still in ugly form, having lost all of their last nine games, though, they showed some fight in a 109-106 loss to the Golden State Warriors on the road on Thursday.
Brookyn has been in some close ones of late, with a three of their last four losses decided by four points or fewer, including a 93-92 loss to the New York Knicks at home on March 21. Ziaire Williams has been a bright spot for the team of late, as he averaged 15.0 points on a 53.5 FG% and 46.2 3 FG% in the last five outings.
As a team, the Nets have covered the spread three times over their previous five outings.
Home: Los Angeles Lakers (47-26, 23-12 Home)
Projected Starting Five:
- Luka Doncic (Questionable)
- Austin Reaves
- Jake LaRavia
- LeBron James
- Deandre Ayton
The Lakers are back to their winning ways. After a 113-110 loss to the Cade Cunningham-less Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, Los Angeles defeated the Indiana Pacers on the road on Thursday, 137-130. Luka Doncic continued his scoring barrage with a 43-point outburst against the Pacers, but he may be pausing ripping defenders apart this Saturday, as the Slovenian superstar is listed as questionable for the Nets game with a hamstring issue at the time of this writing.
On the season, the former scoring champion is putting up 33.6 points per game. Rui Hachimura (calf) is also questionable, while Marcus Smart (ankle) is out. LeBron James has no injury designation, so he can be the point man against the Nets. He had 25 points on 10/16 shooting in Los Angeles’ 125-109 win over the Nets in Brooklyn in December.
The Lakers are 7-0 against the spread in their last seven home games.
