In a possible blow to the New Orleans Pelicans’ playoff hopes, it looks like Zion Williamson has left the NBA bubble to attend to an urgent family emergency.

When it comes to how and when the star rookie will be able to rejoin his teammates, the picture gets a bit murky.

With so many variables in play, it may be good to assume that Williamson may not be able to make opening night, especially if he has to serve a quarantine period.

Richaun Holmes, for example, was slapped with a 10-day quarantine for accidentally crossing the campus line to pick up a food delivery.

In additional news, the Milwaukee Bucks were also dealt a blow after Eric Bledsoe received a positive diagnosis for COVID-19.

Bledsoe took to his personal Instagram to remind people to stay safe.

For the contending Bucks, this means that they are likely going to miss their third-leading scorer on opening night, and perhaps even longer. Bledsoe is currently averaging 15.4 and 5.4 assist through 56 games. Fortunately for the Bucks, they’ve already locked in their playoff berth.

We’re officially two weeks away from the restart, and as we discussed recently after Russell Westbrook’s positive diagnosis, that’s still a long way to go before we get a clearer picture of what’s happening with all of the other players.

For now, let’s just hope that Williamson is able to attend to his family, and that Bledsoe recovers with no complications.
