The Philadelphia 76ers are undeniably among the most disappointing teams in the 2024-25 NBA season. Regarded as one of the top teams to watch out for, especially with the addition of nine-time NBA All-Star forward Paul George to a team that already had Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers were poised to make loud noises in the Eastern Conference and have a deep run in the NBA Playoffs.
Instead, they crashed and burned and finished that season with just a 24-58 record. Only the perennially woeful Charlotte Hornets and the Washington Wizards had fewer wins among East teams than the team from the City of Brotherly Love.
The new season, however, also brings new hope for Philadelphia, and the 76ers have started trying to inject some excitement into their fanbase about the upcoming 2025-26 season. Last season was a torture for Sixers supporters and a nightmare that they are probably still trying to process. The good news is that it seems like Embiid and George are on the right track, health-wise.
Philadelphia recently shared a social media post showing the 76ers, including Embiid and George, doing work in the team’s facility. A clip showed Embiid practicing his post-up and midrange game on the court.
George, on the other hand, can be seen lifting weights in the gym. George went under the knife in the offseason to address a knee injury, and it’s unclear in the post whether he has done any court activities yet, but one can expect Philadelphia to show it once he does.
It is one thing to show the hard work players do in the summer, and it’s completely another to see such efforts translate into success in the actual season. It’s going to take more than just selected clips and photos on a random September day in the gym to get 7e6rs fans convinced that Embiid, George and the rest of the team are about to embark on a huge bounce-back season. But at least there’s something Philly fans can hold on to, as they await the season.
