NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal has always been an outspoken guy, and has rarely pulled punches when talking about how he feels about current NBA players.

This time, the big man took aim at the LA Clippers and Paul George, who was the second marquee star to join the “other team” in the city of angels after Kawhi Leonard.

Those signings made the Clippers title favorites, but they certainly disappointed. Former coach Doc Rivers, who was either fired or resigned after the playoffs depending on who you ask, helped them blow a 3-1 lead in the second round.

For a team with the reigning Finals MVP, and a stacked supporting cast that somehow included two people who were candidates for Sixth Man of the Year, this was inexcusable.

A lot of the blame was thrown towards George, who averaged 20.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. He simply didn’t show up in the biggest moments. This was highlighted by his 4 of 16 shooting performance in Game 7 against the Nuggets.

Considering the fact that he’s due around $72 million over the next two seasons, it’s easy to see where Shaq’s coming from. When you compare how LeBron James and Anthony Davis took turns shouldering the load for this year’s champion Lakers squad, it’s hard to disagree that the Clippers are anything but a massive disappointment.

What do you think? Should the Clippers give it another season, or should they try to move George now and try to get someone else to be Leonard’s “1B”?
