The best of the best in basketball will be sharing the floor tomorrow in downtown Chicago. Team LeBon is gunning for a third-straight win and back-to-back against Team Giannis.

A wave of wild alley-oops, dunks, elite ball-handling, and a fun, competitive game is about to hit us. Any guesses on who’ll win MVP?

Allow us to help you speculate.

FAVORITES – Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis

As expected, the two captains are in the spot. Giannis has a very slight nod as the “higher” favourite as he’s extra motivated from last year’s loss. Also, he’s at the height of his powers and the game simply comes easy to him these days. The Greek Freak is averaging 28 points per game on 68.5% shooting in his three appearances at the All-Star Game.

LeBron James, whose Team LeBron is quite stacked, isn’t far behind. The King shows up for the All-Star Game and we could see him aim hard for a fourth All-Star Game MVP and second triple-double (he’s one of four players to record triple-double in the ASG).

As for Anthony Davis, LeBron and the other guys might look for him often since he’s in his home city and a proud Chicagoan. His 52 points in the 2017 All-Star Game is an all-time record.

MID/LOW-TIER FAVORITES – Luka Doncic and Trae Young

The developing friendly rivalry between these two are a fun and exciting watch. Being an up-and-comer with a thirst to prove themselves to the more established stars is also making them attractive picks.

Both sophomore youngsters are on a scoring tear as well – Trae is third in the league in scoring at 29.7 PPG and has nine games with 40 or more points this season. Luka, meanwhile, is sixth at 28.9 PPG and tied with LeBron for most triple-doubles on the year, with 12.

DARKHORSES – Chris Paul and Pascal Siakam

With his court vision and tendency to push the pace, Chris Paul can fill the stat sheet easily, and that’s a big boost to winning the game’s MVP honours. He’s putting up 13.1 points and 13.2 assists in eight career All-Star Games.

Siakam is leading the defending champion Toronto Raptors in scoring (23.5 PPG). He’s a two-way player with good reach, soft touch on the paint, and a developing outside shot. He’ll be able to hang well with the guys.
