LeBron James would not be denied a chance to send the Los Angeles Lakers to the Western Conference Finals. He put on another masterful display with 29 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, a block, with four turnovers in just 31 minutes of play.

Anthony Davis didn’t even need to have a big offensive game today, as he finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists. That’s how badly the Lakers dominated the Rockets.

The Houston Rockets never stood a chance this game, as the Lakers got off to a 35-20 in the first quarter and never looked back. They also outscored the Rockets 33-18 in the third quarter to put the game beyond any doubt.

None of the other Lakers scored 20 points or more, but it was a well-spread team effort. Five other players scored in double digits, and they again outrebounded the Rockets by a wide margin with 50 boards compared to 31.

The Lakers also shot 52.7% from the field, and 51.4% from beyond the arc. They held the Rockets to 37.1% overall and 26.5% from deep.

The Rockets, who did manage to take Game 1 in the series, will be left bewildered heading into their offseason.

James Harden was the only one who had anything resembling a good game with 30 points, six rebounds, five assists, a steal, and a block along with six turnovers.

The rest of the starters combined for 28 points. Eric Gordon only had five, while Russell Westbrook had 10.

All eyes will now be on Game 6 of the series between the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets. Should the Clippers win, then the LA showdown will be confirmed.
