The Denver Nuggets got off to a fast start in Game 2, taking a 44-25 lead in the first quarter.

They held the lead for the entire game, and though the Los Angeles Clippers chipped away at the lead through the second to fourth quarters, they never managed to overcome the rough start.

Nikola Jokic (26 PTS, 18 REB, 4 AST) had a beastly performance on the boards for the Nuggets. Jamal Murray (27 PTS, 3 REB, 6 AST) also added a good scoring punch.

Six Nuggets players finished in double figures.

The Clippers spread out the scoring as well, with seven players scoring 10 or more points. Paul George (22 PTS, 8 REB, 3 AST) led the way for them. Kawhi Leonard (13 PTS, 10 REB, 8 AST) almost had a triple-double, but they sorely needed his scoring.

This will be a big confidence booster for the Nuggets, who were sorely outplayed in a 120-97 hammering in Game 1. They’re going to need to continue balancing out the offense, as Murray will likely not be able to put up 50 point games when he’s being guarded by the likes of Leonard and George.
