Jamal Murray took over the fourth quarter to keep his team’s hopes alive. Going into the period, the score was 86-82 in favor of the Utah Jazz, but he would not be denied.
Nikola Jokic put up 31 points, six rebounds and four assists, but the man of the game was his electric teammate Jamal Murray.
With the Denver Nuggets having their backs on the wall, Murray left it all on the court in the fourth quarter of Game 5 and made a ton of clutch baskets on the way to 42 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. He’s scored 92 points in the last two games.
He finally managed to outduel Jazz star Donovan Mitchell, who came back down to earth with relatively normal 30-point, two rebound, five assist performance. No one else on the Jazz surpassed 20 points.
The Nuggets will have a huge morale boost from this 117-107 victory, and now it’s a completely different series with it being 3-2. They outscored the Jazz 35-21 in the final stanza.
As a basketball fan, I want the Nuggets to take the next game. The Mitchell – Murray battle has been one for the ages, and all of us deserve to get two more games of this. Both of them are averaging over 30 points per game.
