The Brooklyn Nets have lost four in a row, and are set to face a Denver Nuggets squad that came up short against the Jazz. It will be the second game of the Nuggets’ back-to-back set.

Catch this game live on Sunday, May 9, at 10 AM, Manila time.

HOME TEAM: Denver Nuggets (44-23, 25-10 at home)

Projected Starting Five:

  • PG: Facundo Campazzo
  • SG: Michael Porter Jr.
  • SF: Aaron Gordon
  • PF: Paul Millsap
  • C: Nikola Jokic

The Denver Nuggets had a tough loss to the league-leading Utah Jazz today, falling 127-120 loss thanks to Bojan Bogdanovic torching them with a career game that ended with 48 points for the Croatian.

They’ve played four games in May, and have split both games 2-2 so far. Playing on the second night of a back-to-back is going to be tough for them.

They lost their previous game in January to the Nets, 116-122, but this will be the first time the Nets will be seeing both Michael Porter Jr. and Aaron Gordon this year.

Porter Jr. is averaging 23 PPG, 6.3 RPG and 2.3 RPG in May. Gordon hasn’t had a great month so far with 5.5 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 1.3 APG.

The Nuggets’ key player continues to be MVP candidate Nikola Jokic, who has been putting up 29.5 PPG, 11 RPG and 7.8 APG on only 2.8 turnovers. If the Nets can’t shut him down, it’s going to be a long night.

Denver has compiled a 3-2 record ATS in their last five games at home.

ROAD TEAM: Brooklyn Nets (43-24, 18-16 on the road)

Projected Starting Five:

  • PG: Kyrie Irving
  • SG: Joe Harris
  • SF: Jeff Green
  • PF: Kevin Durant
  • C: DeAndre Jordan

The Nets are having a bit of a crisis after losing four-straight games, and have been relying heavily on Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant as both have taken to the court over their last three games.

The superstar duo are averaging crazy numbers in that span:

  • Irving: 34.3 PPG, 5 RPG, 5 APG
  • Durant: 31.3 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 3.7 APG

Unfortunately, the rest of the Brooklyn squad has not been doing well in the same period. Part of it likely has to do with the fact that Irving and Durant have taken more than half the team’s field goal attempts in the last three games, giving their teammates few chance to make a contribution. There haven’t been enough shots for the other players to counteract a bad shooting night from one of them

It’s important to note, though, that this game against the Nets if the first time that the Nuggets have been underdogs while playing at home since February.

The Nets are 3-2 ATS in the last five games where they’ve been favored while playing on the road.

PREDICTIONS:

Spread: The Nets are currently playing with a bit of rest, and have not lost five-straight games this season. I think they’ll win and cover the -3 spread.

Over/Under:The Nuggets will be tired from their battle with the Jazz, and are averaging 108 PPG this month. Take the under 231.5.
