Joel Embiid takes the W but calls Nikola Jokic the best player in the league

It’s a shame that Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid play in different conferences, considering that the two MVPs are both generational big men that have the capability of putting on a huge show. They did not disappoint in their latest meeting, though, which was a close 126-121 victory for the Philadelphia 76ers that saw them win through a furious comeback in the fourth quarter.

The Denver Nuggets’ leading man had a great showing with 25 points, 19 rebounds and three assists, but he was outplayed by Embiid’s 41 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists. However, Embiid was classy in victory and even called his opponent the best player in the league.

It would be nice to see these two play in a seven-game series in the NBA Finals, but the chances aren’t anywhere close to guaranteed since both conferences are very competitive this year.

The Phoenix Suns put on a comeback for the ages

The Phoenix Suns were down more than 20 points in the fourth quarter against the Sacramento Kings, but managed to beat the odds and win 119-117 after putting on an insane performance in the closing minutes.

They held the Kings to no field goals for almost a four-minute stretch, which allowed them to claw back into the game and shock a Sacramento squad that thought they had the game in the bag. Plenty of credit goes to Grayson Allen, who made 9 of 14 three-pointers and led the Suns with 29 points, five rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks.

Kevin Durant also finished the game with 27 points, five rebounds and four assists in the comeback. Durant assisted the game-tying three-pointer by Eric Gordon and then he hit four free throws to close out the game.

The Kings are shellshocked now after losing two close games after holding decent leads. They got Dame-timed in their previous contest against the Milwaukee Bucks and then followed that up with an embarassing meltdown against the Suns. Getting another triple-double of 21 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists from Domantas Sabonis along with 33 points from De’Aaron Fox in a game where he shot 6 of 10 from the three is meaningless if they can’t close out games.
