We get to see Suning once again, who is one of our dark horses (albeit not at the level of Victory Five) for this tournament. They will be battling Dominus Esports. On the later portion, FunPlus Phoenix will be fighting eStar. The odds look favorable for the unorthodox teams, namely Suning and FunPlus Phoenix.

Find out why that is the case below, as well as the odds to each match.

Suning versus Dominus Esports

Suning (1.12 to win) is one of the teams that has visibly improved compared to Spring. Each player, especially huanfeng and Angel, have demonstrated their capability to execute well with the LPL meta picks. One of their downsides is their lack of action to equalize their position when at a disadvantage.

Against Dominus Esports (4.43 to win) however, they don’t have to worry too much about falling out. Dominus is at the lowest point of the leaderboards, with the clearest reason being the lack of consistency in their roster and gameplay. Unlike Suning, they aren’t able to execute well on the meta picks of the season, in addition to their messy gameplay.

The odds are heavily stacked in Suning’s favor, and for obvious reasons, so expect a clean sweep from them.

eStar versus FunPlus Phoenix

eStar (3.06 to win) is in an unstable position, given how their past series went so far in the tournament. They were able to beat FPX 2-1 last Spring, but they didn’t go far in the Playoffs. Add the fact that they are 2-3 in series, and Wei in one game last week forgot to take Smite, it’s hard to see a timeline where they are likely to beat FPX this summer season.

FunPlus Phoenix (1.27 to win) does not suffer from the inconsistency issues that eStar does. In fact, their team play is consistently strong, but can be countered due to how much of FPX gained exposure due to their Worlds success. As we’ve seen in Day 4, even Invictus Gaming has figured out FPX that they managed to beat them 2-1.

FunPlus Phoenix will be the likely winner, unless eStar can counter the same old playstyle that the former has stuck to.
