We’re about to wrap up the second week of the 2020 LPL Spring Season. These teams are the last to play, but they are certainly not the least in LPL caliber.

Read on to find out the odds of your favorites!

Week 2, Day 6

Victory Five versus LGD Gaming

During the Spring season, these teams were ranked 17th and 15th respectively. Now in the Summer season, things have taken quite a twist especially for Victory Five (2.72 to win).

LGD Gaming (1.34 to win) is hugely favored in this matchup, given the odds. While Victory Five has been at the top of the leaderboard by taking no series loss and just a single game loss, both of these teams have pretty equal player statistics.

Their largest difference is in the teams’ junglers, with V5 Weiwei having a stellar 11 KDA ratio and over 70.5% kill participation, but Peanut overtakes him with 85% kill participation but a disappointing 5.67 KDA ratio.

The more games V5 puts in the summer, the better we can tell if their wins have been a huge stroke or luck, or a legitimate improvement from the previous season. While the odds are in huge favor of LGD, we’re taking a gamble on V5’s potential win on this one.

Oh My God versus Edward Gaming

OMG (2.88 to win) is seemingly on the way to achieve V5’s spring split record. They lost one series each against Royal Never Give Up and Victory Five, managing to only take a single game from V5.

Their statistics aren’t of much help either; all players have below 2 KDA with the lowest being their marksman Smlz with just 1.5 KDA. Coincidentally, he has the most gold share of the team, but it looks like he is unable to make great use of the resources.

EDG (1.3 to win) also has yet to win a series and has only taken one game this season. However, their statistics are marginally better than OMG’s stats, with everyone having more than 2 KDA. While the sample size is a single series, they still show that they were able to make good picks but unable to close it out.

Against a team that has yet to have a decent snowball game, EDG should be able to have more room for error once they take on OMG tomorrow.

Week 2, Day 7

Suning versus Invictus Gaming

Suning (2.11 to win) has been having a blast during their initial games, and despite losing to JD Gaming in an earlier series, they made JDG work for that 0-2.

Suning has no standout players; rather, they have a solid team from their top lane to their support. Swordart plays a great Bard and Thresh, and Angel plays for his team like a budget Doinb. SofM has a great grasp of jungling, and Bin and huanfeng are also remarkable for their variety of picks in the top and bottom lane respectively.

Invictus Gaming (1.56 to win) has the odds in their favor, but the small gap between Suning and IG doesn’t share the same story. It shows how relatively better Suning has been playing, and how relatively worse iG has been playing.

While everyone expected for iG to picking up the pace this summer, their recent run against Team WE is simply disappointing. To lose to one of the quarterfinals qualifiers as the top seed of the regular season is quite a feat, and not the positive kind. Even if Rookie has been pulling the team together, the amount of gold TheShy and Ning are giving out is just too much to handle for the midlaner.

This downhill trend from iG has been going on since playoffs, and we will stick to our guns and say that Suning’s got this series if they keep up the great work.

JD Gaming versus Top Esports

While we are not exactly surprised, our favorite bet Top Esports (1.51 to win) is even winning the numbers game against spring champion JD Gaming (2.2 to win).

These two teams are the cream of the crop; it is the perfect game to conclude this action-packed week of the LPL. They have both won one series and have a two-game winstreak.

If you weren’t able to watch the 2020 Mid-Season Cup, here’s a quick rundown. Top Esports won the Finals against FunPlus Phoenix, Gen.G, and came out of group stage as the second seed after beating DAMWON and T1. JD Gaming won 3rd place after being reverse swept by FunPlus Phoenix.

They have certainly proven themselves in the global stage by dominating the Korean teams, but pit them against each other and the competition is so extreme due to the skill of their individual players.

JD Gaming may be the Spring champion, but watch out for Top Esports, the Mid-Season champion, paving their road to become the Summer champion. As always, look out for the lethal trio between TES Karsa, Knight, and JackeyLove.
