One of DOTA 2 community’s veterans, Jimmy “DeMoN” Ho found himself on the receiving end of multiple women’s sexual assault allegations. The former pro player and coach has been dropped by Beyond the Summit Events as its response after the allegations became public. He has been permanently removed from all Beyond the Summit productions and would not be welcomed back for other future broadcasts as confirmed by BTS co-owner, David “LD” Gorma, through his personal Twitter account.

This another blow to the DOTA 2 community. Toby “TobiWan” Dawson, who played an essential role in the creation of community portals such as joinDota, has also recently been accused of sexual harassment.

DeMoN has a competitive DOTA background and played at a competitive level from 2011 to 2018 representing various teams like Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid, TNC Predator, Fnatic and more across regions. He was coaching former EG teammate Clinton “Fear” Loomis and his team in J.Storm which then went on to be called business associates up until the month of May 2020 before retiring from the position.

It was Twitch employee, Eleine Sun, who was first to release a statement regarding Ho’s misconduct. She brought up the rumor via twitter claiming Ho assaulted her by pulling her into a small room as he demanded for a kiss. Her detailed account via TwitLonger stated a descriptive narration of how the assault happened saying:

“He pulled me into a space which I recall being small, fairly dark, and secluded with a door just next to us–possibly a fire escape or area by the bathrooms. He had me enter this area with him, put his right arm on the door holding it closed, and told me to kiss him. When I dismissed it as usual and went to open the door to leave, he shoved the door back closed and pleaded again for me to kiss him.”

As per Sun, she said she heard “several other stories about his inappropriate behavior around women”, and true enough her statement was quickly followed by other stories. BTS producer Ken “Hot_Bid” Chen helped share an account from a person who wished to remain anonymous via TwitLonger as well.

The person said “Jimmy was a guest at a DOTA 2 LAN that I also attended. At the end of one day he asked me to help him in another room. I didn’t realize that being alone in a room with him would be a problem, then he started to casually touch me.” She talked about how Ho kept touching her until two BTS staff walked in on them which forced DeMoN to “immediately stop”. Ken Chen has made it clear via the disclaimer on the TwitLonger post that he has verified the authenticity of the woman’s account from the two BTS employees who both confirmed that they indeed have walked in on them being in a room together.

DeMoN even stated his own stand against sexual abuse via Twitter last June 23 speaking up against Grant “GranDGranT” Harris quote tweeting a TwitLonger post about Grant saying “Speechless. This is NOT okay.”

The tweet quickly drew flak as people called him out for being a hypocrite and that he has been ignoring his own actions, Ho’s last response was a reply tweet on June 24 saying that people should “wait until tomorrow.” However, we are yet to see any statement from him regarding the allegations as of this writing.
