Starting today, competitors, fans, and casters of DOTA 2 can expect more exciting Europe/CIS DOTA action as organizer U Can Company (UCC) brings us Vulkan Fight Series sponsored by Vulkan Bet BC.

Hosted by UCC and Vulkan.bet, the Vulkan Fight Series is a tournament open to all EU/CIS DOTA teams for a chance to win the lion’s share of the $10,000 prize pool together with the title as champions.

The closed qualifiers begun last week. There would be four participating teams for the closed qualifiers with three of the participating teams receiving direct invites and one team coming from the open qualifiers. The invited teams are Team WP, Team Solid, and KBU. However, KBU withdrew from the tournament and was replaced by Team Heroic, who participated in the open qualifiers but lost in the semi-finals, via direct invite. Team UniqueNova, champions of the open qualifier, completes the four teams participating in the closed qualifier.

In a surprising turn of events, Team UniqueNova who came from the open qualifiers went against the odds and won it all against the teams who were directly invited. The other team to participate in the Vulkan Fight Series from the closed qualifier is yet to be determined.

The Vulkan Fight Series will have six directly invited teams and two teams from the closed qualifier compete for the title. So far, four teams have already received direct invites which are Team Empire Hope, Khan, Aggressive Mode, and OG Seed. The teams to fill the two remaining slots for direct invites are yet to be determined. With team UniqueNova already on board, we are only waiting one more team coming from the closed qualifier.

The tournament will be played with the eight teams divided into two groups. Each group will have a single round-robin with games being played in a best-of-three format. The top two teams from the round-robin will advance to the upper bracket while the bottom two teams will advance to the lower bracket. For the playoffs, it will be played in a double-elimination bracket format. The upper bracket winner will have a one map advantage in the grand finals which will be the only series to be played in a best-of-five.

The Vulkan Fight Series begins on May 29, 2020 and will run until June 13, 2020, watch the games live via Twitch.tv of UCC Studio.
